Welcome

The Rural Deanery of North Belfast consists of three Church of Ireland parishes in north Belfast, eight in Newtownabbey, and one in Greenisland. The Mission to Seafarers in Belfast is also included.

The Clergy Chapter consists of ordained ministers who are (1) licensed to parishes in the deanery, or (2) are resident in the deanery and have permission to officiate, or (3) have permission to officiate in the diocese and regularly minister in a church in the deanery. There are currently seven full-time clergy, seven part-time, and six retired.

Within the Church of Ireland, the Rural Deanery is part of the Archdeaconry of Belfast, the Diocese of Connor, and the Province of Armagh.

Services of worship are held every Sunday in all of our churches, and also mid-week in some parishes.
